Opening Remarks delivered on  Memorial Day, November 30, 2003 at the University Hotel , U.P. Diliman, Quezon City.

Gentlemen, brothers in loyalty and in spirit, good evening. Foremost in every pinoy's red-letter days is Memorial Day, which we are celebrating today. It is a day when we are all gathered to celebrate the lives which our departed brothers have led, and the memories which bind them to all our hearts. I personally have never met any of them physically, nor shared their victories and defeats as members of the fraternity, and I believe the case is true with the rest of us-resident brothers. But I also believe that while they were never with us during their lives, we already share the common bond that binds us all together- the brotherhood. For as we are all brothers in spirit and not in mere flesh, we are instantly connected by brotherhood, and I , all of us, see it fitting to honor them , to honor their fruitful and cherish lives , to honor their love for the fraternity and all that it stands for : brotherhood , loyalty, determination.

So I , on behalf of the resident brothers , we welcome you to this  Memorial Day celebration, a triumph of the human spirit, a triumph of the pinoy spirit. Good evening!
